Have you ever wondered when Lake of the Ozarks transitions from ice bath temperatures to that sweet perfect temperature that calls you to jump right in? Look no further! Historically in March-April the water temperature rests between 48 degrees and 53 degrees. This can still be a fantastic time to start up your outboard motor and get out on the water, but unless you are looking to do a cold plunge, it is best to stay inside your watercraft at all times!
The rapid warming starts in April. We see the water averaging 60 degrees, approaching 70 degrees as we start to near Memorial Day Weekend in May. This is when the Boat Rental season is in full swing. Bookings become tight, and it is crucial to plan your trip in advance. However, you can always reach out to us to check availability, as bookings tend to fall through on occasion.
Once we hit June, July, and August, we start to see the Oasis temperatures. Averaging 80 degrees, this is the perfect time for waterspouts such as tubing, skiing, wakeboarding, wakesurfing, etc. Our rental fleet includes ski tow bars, so fret not! We have you covered for all of your watersports needs. September remains warm in terms of water temperatures, so you can rest assure the season is not over yet. Get out on the water and enjoy your Labor Day the right way! October is where you start to see the decline. Mother Nature reminds us that all great things must come to an end, as the water adapts that ice cold touch once again, and the leaves begin to fall in honor of her.
